Grants & Sponsorships
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT) has a long tradition of commitment to the well-being of the communities we serve. Promoting health and wellness is at the core of our business goals, and it is what drives our community involvement.
As a local company, BCBSMT believes it has an opportunity—and a responsibility—to help improve the health of not only our members and employees, but of all Montanans. By working with like-minded organizations across the state, we are able to tackle some of the most pressing health challenges, while also recognizing those who are serving as role models and mentors.
By investing in our communities, BCBSMT is creating a healthier environment, improving quality of life, and leaving a healthy legacy for Montana’s next generations. These investments are made by offering grants and sponsorships. “We’re dedicated to helping Montana be a healthier place to live, work, and play,” said John Doran, BCBSMT director of public relations.
In 2014, BCBSMT awarded hundreds of sponsorships and grants to organizations throughout Montana totaling more than $500,000. A few of BCBSMT’s 2014 partners included: Big Sky State Games, Special Olympics Montana, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies – The Montana Coalition, and Camp Mak-A-Dream.
Grants are designed to support nonprofit, program-focused initiatives that align with BCBSMT’s purpose to do everything in our power to stand with our members in sickness and in health. Sponsorships are provided to Montana community, civic, and educational organizations for events that raise awareness about health issues and garner funds for health causes. Whether it’s building a park, expanding health care services, raising awareness for mental illness, or promoting a healthier lifestyle, BCBSMT is proud to help these organizations complete their goals.
